Hinsdale, located 21 miles west of Chicago, offers natural beauty, hometown charm, and a friendly community atmosphere.  The village serves as an ideal base of commerce, education, and suburban living.  The population is 16,816 at the 2010 census.

Hinsdale’s downtown area is a National Register Historic District, which is located in the center of town and is remarkably little changed. The village has lots of restaurants, different types of shops, and various services, as well as the train station.

The Robbins Park district just east of downtown between Garfield Street and County Line Road is a National Register Historic District as well. 

The district includes two of Hinsdale’s seven buildings individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as seven of the seventeen Hinsdale Historic Landmarks.
